Plenty Young Women Have Been Subject to Yaz Side Effects

Filed under: Activists, Online Health, The Lawyers Way — admin @ 3:13 am

Yaz side effects have been documented to include some serious health problems for those taking the pill. A couple of the Yaz side effects can be deadly and are, but are not limited to blood clots, heart attack, stroke, kidney injury or failure, organ injury or failure, such as gall bladder, liver, and pancreas, and sometimes even death.

The neglect for the potential side effects was so evident, that there are now legal suits building. Many that are suffering Yasmin side effects would most likely not have even thought to take Yaz for their birth control pill had they known the hazards. Since there are so many other types of oral contraceptive to choose from that lack some of the side effects found in Yaz, being fully educated of the risks beforehand is pressing and could mean the difference between life and death.

The trouble with the Yaz side effects is that some adult females did not know that the potential side effects were so critical before taking the birth control pill. These side effects, severe or moderate, could happen to anyone. With so many other types of oral contraceptives on the market, women would have at least had a choice to use something different if they saw what possibilities that were ahead with the use of Yaz. Since the introduction of Yaz as an oral contraceptive, some young women all over the world have been using it and experiencing serious or life-threatening medical troubles.

How Superheroes Impact Environmentalism

Filed under: Activists — admin @ 2:02 am

When you think of the environment, you don’t think of Garbage Disposal Man or Landfill Cleanup Girl charging to the rescue, do you? Some public service announcements and childrens’ programs may have invented cutesy super heroes to teach people about environmental responsibility but when we think of classic comic book super heroes we usually associate them with space villains, masterminds of criminal deviousness, and otherwise exceptional villains. But during the 1970s many super heroes became environmentally aware and those iconic figures have stayed with many thinkers and writers today.

For example, in the article “Galactic green police” SF Fandom recaps some of the great environmental tales from 1970s comic bookdom, while capping off its post with an image adapted by an Al Gore-inspired environmental action group that used the Green Lantern character as inspiration.

Perhaps inspired by Green Lantern, another SF Fandom blog recapped the Green Lantern environmental message by looking at fan costumes. Green Lantern may or may not be an icon for the environmental movement but he sure is a cool character. Millions of comic book fans have followed Green Lantern’s adventures in solo and Justice League stories. He’s probably one of the more popular of the DC comic book heroes.

Of course the environment is an important part of our lives. We need to take responsibility for it and do our parts to ensure we leave a healthy, thriving ecosystem to our children and grand-children. Be sure you help out where you can. Every little bit helps.

Volunteer Work and Your Business

Filed under: Activists — admin @ 10:09 am

Volunteering; building a community bond, and assisting the nearby needy. As they say, “charity begins at home”. Finding the freedom for this kind of event is often a bit difficult, and arranging specific activities can easily eat up free time that could be used to actually work. The obvious step, then, is for other companies to take a cue from firms like Connecticut’s Adaptive Marketing LLC. As well as programs like Shopping Essentials designed to benefit consumers, Adaptive Marketing organizes local volunteer activity so that its employees have the time to help the community.

Initiatives like these were always annual occasions — in today’s world, so much more can be achieved. Looking at a specific company, Adaptive Marketing has provided its staff members with chances to participate in everything from tennis shoe recycling campaigns to tree replanting days. For these events, the locations, dates and times of the events were made clear well in advance, making it simple for staff members to know what to expect, and how much of a time commitment was required. Making sure volunteers have a say in what programs are available is important. Staff from Adaptive Marketing, the firm who offers the program Shopping Essentials, select from among many volunteer programs. Previous and current projects have seen improvements made in areas as diverse as help and support for children and young adults, green projects, and events related to artistic projects. The result is that Adaptive Marketing volunteers have the chance to find the most effective way to work and have fun getting involved. A regularly scheduled day or a one-off event — these are the usual ways for a firm to organize this kind of volunteer initiative, possibly at a local school or the homeless shelter in town. No matter how short the time you can spare, there’s going to be some program to match, which makes time no block against volunteering.

Turning their profit-making skills to help their community has long been a tradition at many companies. Like many other firms, Adaptive Marketing sponsors volunteer initiatives to support the people of its hometown and to generate positive feeling within its home community by the actions of its staff members. What volunteer work is sure to do is leave your staff feeling good about themselves, which leads to a motivated corporate culture.

About the Lady Finch

Filed under: Activists, Dogs & Cats & Others — admin @ 5:20 pm

The numbers of Gouldian Finches have weakened rather dramatically during the 20th century. Their habitat has been reduced or altered. Early research indicated a parasite called air sac mite, was responsible for the decline of the Gouldian. This is no longer considered to be a major factor. In general, The Gouldian Finch is susceptible to diseases and viral infections. Their handsome colors mean that they are easily eaten by predatory animals. Fires are listed as the number one threat to the natural populations. The total number of Gouldian finches all in all is not low, however, because they are among the most popular pet birds, and are bred in captivity for the pet trade.

Actions have been taken and are underway to implement a recovery plan to recover and conserve its natural habitats, such as building protective fencing to prevent damage by cattle. Attempts at reintroduction have so far proved unsuccessful; it was also suggested to develop management guidelines for land-holders about appropriate land management, promoting the recovery program and Gouldian Finche preservation.

Although often bred in a colony in captivity, in the wild The Gouldian Finch is not a settlement bird. However, out of the breeding season it amasses in flocks often a mixed flock consisting of Longtail Finches, Masked Finches and Gouldians. This is probably a defence against predation. Flocks used to consist of up to 1000″2000 individuals. During the breeding season they are usually found on rough scree slopes where vegetation is sparse. In the dry season they are more nomadic and will move to wherever there is food and water.

Serious Malignant Mesothelioma Has no Single Test, as Many Signs Are Similar to Less Serious Conditions

Filed under: Activists, Online Health, The Medical Way — admin @ 6:19 am

Malignant pleural mesothelioma is a uncommon and fast moving tumor where no successful treatment has been discovered in spite of the finding of quite a few probable genetic targets. The final stages of MPM diagnosis and the long latency that exists connects contacts and diagnosis have made it difficult to completely study the importance of risk factors and the resulting molecular effects.

Quite a few medical centers are witnessing an increasing amount of patients that are suffering from mesothelioma cancer. This gives pathologists diagnosing the patient many problems, which can be divided into those encountered in finding the differences between cancer of the mesothelium and harmless changes and those experienced in setting apart cancer of the mesothelium from additional forms of e-cadherin and tissue tumors that connect. Immunohistochemistry plays a major role in making the diagnosis, nevertheless it should be understood in regards to the experimental setting and radiological characteristics, and with a knowledge of the wide morphological variations existing in cancer of the mesothelium.

Cancer of the mesothelium is a primary cancer of the serosal cavities, an anatomic site that is also frequently affected by metastatic disease, mostly from primary carcinomas of the ovary, lung and breast. Progression in immunohistochemistry have caused an improvement in diagnostic sensitivity and specificity in the differential diagnosis in both cytological and histological material. Recently, the authors group employed high throughput technology to the recognition of new flags that may aid in differentiating cancer of the mesothelium from cancer in the peritoneum and ovaries, tumors with closely related histogenesis and antigenic profile. Together with the better tools available for cancer of the serosa diagnosis, realizing the biology of mesothelioma has been accumulating recently.

How To Avoid Scam Artist When Donating To Katrina Relief Eff

Filed under: Activists — admin @ 2:13 am

The pictures and videos of the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina are sadly stunning. As is true for our great nation, millions are lining up to donate to help those that have been impacted. While your actions are a shining example of the best traits of people, a few unsavory groups are trying to make a profit off of the tragedy.

Scam Artists

You can avoid these scam artists by taking a few simple steps. Charitable organizations rely on tax-deductible contributions as their primary funding source. Before an organization can offer the benefit of a tax deduction for donations, it must be classified as such by the Internal Revenue Service. The process is arduous and effectively acts as an informal investigation of the legitimacy of the charitable organization in question. Fortunately, the IRS makes this information available to the public.

You can check the legitimacy of a charitable organization by either contacting the IRS or accessing the agency list of charitable organizations on the Internet as follows:

IRS Customer Service: 1-800-829-1040

http://apps.irs.gov/app/pub78

The above link goes to a page where you can conduct a publication 78 search. Publication 78 is a list of all charitable organizations that have qualified for tax-exempt status with the IRS. Scam artist and unsavory characters are not going to be listed with the IRS. If the organization you are considering does not appear in Publication 78, you may wish to consider another organization.

E-mail Scams

You should be cautious if you receive an e-mail requesting money for the relief effort. The e-mail may not be from a legitimate organization. Fraudulent e-mail campaigns are at an unbelievable level. If you are determined to make a contribution because of an e-mail you received, make sure that you check out the organization with the IRS as indicated above.

Unfortunately, there is a second problem with responding to an e-mail solicitation for monetary donations. Assume that you regularly make donations to a large charity organization and you receive a request for a donation from that organization to help with the tragedy in New Orleans and beyond. You can safely click the link in the email and make a donation, correct? Maybe not. There is still a risk that the email is a scam. Many online businesses have ongoing problems with scam artists copying their sites, logos, headings, etc., and sending e-mail solicitations to scam individuals. There is no reason to believe that charitable organizations would be any less of a target, so be careful.

If you still are compelled to respond to an email solicitation with a donation, you should use a search engine to search for the organization listed in the email. Once you click on to the site, you can make a donation in confidence.

The devastation cause by Katrina is there for all to see. By following the above recommendations, you can make sure your donation gets to the people in need.
