If you have a demonstration to drive home at work you have to learn a few simple concepts that will help you to produce a more effective expose. Once you have got the hang of these precepts, you will rapidly be able to present more and more talks with greater ease and impact. You might even start looking for chances to give talks.
Write out the demonstration in rough, just like a first draft of a written report. You will find things that are irrelevant or superfluous - delete them. Check the story is consistent and flows smoothly.Keep the messages clear and concise - Don’t go for over the top language and sacrifice clarity
Script out the story board for your lecture and then work out what optical prompts you can use to signpost your talk. recollect that the optical prompts are not the talk. Powerpoint should be the aid and not the master.
Work out how you are going to use your voice. You may even listen to male voiceover artists to work out how you might make yourself sound even better. There are plenty of great voice-over talents out there. Note the effect your voice has on those that listen to you when you are talking. Figure out what and how people do to make them sound good on the telly.
Listen to the wireless, as you can frequently find that the voice-over artist they have are well educated. Many of them have gone to voice over workshops and they know what they have to do to make themselves sound clear.
You have to look great and sound good. So make sure that you are dressed smartly for your sales pitch. Do not be distracting by your appearance - either because you look too cracking or too bad. It would be a real dishonor to get yourself all prepared to sound great, if nobody listened to you because you looked a mess or too hot.
Also pay attention to your body language as often the subject matter that you present has more to do with the non verbal clues thant the verbal aspects of your content delivery.
