Stretching For Strength

Filed under: Fitness + Training — admin @ 4:59 pm

If you are interested in improving the efficiency of your strength training sessions, you may want to make stretching a bigger priority. A recent study by researcher and author, Wayne Wescott, Ph.D., shows that stretching after your workout not only increases flexibility but improves strength as well.

Participants in a 10-week strength training program either paused to stretch between each machine or stretched after their workouts. Surprisingly they showed a 20% increase in strength over non-stretchers.

Dr. Westcott says there’s no clear explanation yet for this finding; more research is needed to confirm it and understand the mechanism behind it.

As we age our range of motion often suffers due to lack of flexibility and stiffness and arthritis in the joints. Often we take the approach of avoiding movement-which is exactly the opposite of what we should do. The ideal approach is to incorporate a stretching routine into our exercise program.

Stretching has a host of benefits to the muscles, tendons and tissue surrounding the joints. A flexible joint may move farther in its range and requires less energy to do so.

Flexibility training (stretching) increases tissue temperature, which in turn increases circulation and nutrient transport. This allows greater elasticity of surrounding tissues. As a result there is an increased quantity and quality of synovial fluid, enabling more nutrients to get to the joint. The end result is more freedom of movement and a slowing in the process of arthritis.

Strong clinical evidence also indicates that lower back pain can be avoided or improved by stretching the hamstrings, hip flexors, and muscles attaching to the pelvis.

Mars - Planets Taste Better With Chocolate

Filed under: Science Tips — admin @ 4:49 pm

Mars was first noticed by the Babylonians, around 400 BC, but they called it Nergal. The Egyptians saw the planet, but weren’t impressed and they named it Har Decher, which means The Red One. The Romans called the planet Mars, naming it after the god of war. In 1609, Galileo was the first to see Mars through a telescope. The first map of Mars was drawn in 1659. Christiaan Huygens, in the late 1600s, was the first person to consider life on Mars.

The American probe, Mariner 4, made the first successful flyby of Mars, in 1965. The first time any thing landed on Mars was in 1971; these were two Soviet probes, but they lost contact almost as soon as they landed. Then NASA, in 1975, sent two orbiters to Mars; each orbiter had a landing device and both were able to land on Mars. The successful launch of the Mars Odyssey orbiter, in 2001, led to the discovery of water and ice deposits on Mars. An orbiter, launched in 2003, detected methane in the Mars atmosphere, which is important in trying to determine life on Mars.

The discovery of methane led people to believe that Mars must have had a source of gas on the planet, at some time in its history. The gas could’ve came from, volcanic activity or a crashing comet, but no one knows. Because of its thin atmosphere, Mars has a hard time warming up; its highest temperature is around 20 degrees Celsius. During the winter, the surface of Mars can get so cold that as much as 25% of the atmosphere will turn into ice.

Over the years, the US, Japan, Europe and the Soviet Union, have all managed to send various spacecrafts to study Mars. Over 60% of all spacecrafts either never made it to Mars or were completely useless by the time they got there. Who knows how much money was spent on those unsuccessful journeys. When it comes to exploring space, countries have an insatiable need to be first. It seems like the journey into space is as much about publicity as it is about gathering information.

There have been many reasons given for the need to explore Mars. Of course, the simplest reason is because it’s there. Humans are always looking for the next challenge, to try do something that hasn’t been done. Or maybe information gathered from Mars can somehow benefit earth. Some think that space travel is a great way to inspire kids to become scientist or work in a science field. Business is also a consideration, if the atmosphere on Mars could help lead to a medical breakthrough a lot of companies will become rich.

Mars is an unknown, just like all space travel. Before Mars, the Moon was the goal. Many trips have been made to the Moon, but where are the concrete benefits? Where is that major human advancement that can be credited to the Moon? The one thing that is known, is the tremendous amount of money it takes to send spacecrafts to Mars. There always seems to be enough money to investigate the solar system, or start a war, but there’s never enough to help people who really need it.

Goal Setting and Affirmations: How Forgiveness Fits In

Filed under: House Of Self Improvement — admin @ 4:37 pm

Anyone wanting to invoke the Law of Attraction - where positive thoughts attract positive energy - will sometimes be confronted with a blockage. No matter how often you use your affirmations to attain a certain desire, or the depth of sincerity with which you are affirming, it just doesn’t seem to be working. It could be that you are obstructing the very energy that you need to manifest what you want, because you are holding on to anger and resentment. The solution is simple: learn to forgive.

“Those who are at war with others are seldom at peace with themselves.” - Anonymous

By harboring negative feelings towards someone, whether they are living or deceased, you are maintaining a bond that keeps you connected to them. The energy that you are preserving is not only negative, but also stagnant. It will keep you from manifesting what you desire. Focusing on negativity will only get you more of the same. If you can manage to forgive, not only will this have a positive, uplifting effect on your well-being — the other person is also likely to experience the benefits.

A Gift to Yourself

Many people think that granting forgiveness is a sign of weakness, or a noble, altruistic act that you do for the other person, in which you condone what occurred in the past. In fact, you don’t have to reconcile to be able to forgive. Forgiveness is rather a “selfish” act, because it is something that you do for yourself. See it as a gift to yourself. By forgiving, you are breaking a negative tie, letting go of the past and allowing lightness and vibrancy into your life.

“As long as you don’t forgive, who and whatever it is will occupy rent-free space in your mind.” - Isabelle Holland

Anyone whom you feel anger, hurt and/or resentment towards is eligible to be forgiven. Start with the first person that pops into your mind while you’re reading this and work your way down your list — all the way to pre-school if you must! And don’t forget to forgive yourself. It will feel as if a huge load has been lifted off your shoulders, leaving you free to receive love, prosperity and abundance.

Some suggested affirmations:

* I forgive you completely and freely.
* I choose to be free and allow you to be free.

* I freely forgive myself and others.
* I let go of the past completely and release myself and you from it.

How tires are manufactured?

Filed under: Classic Automobiles & Others — admin @ 4:27 pm

The first stage of tire making is collecting raw materials and
formulating rubber compounds. The raw materials used are rubber,
oils, pigments, antioxidants, carbon black or silica,
accelerators and other additives. These are then mixed together
in a huge blender, which is called Banburys. After the mixing
process is completed a gum like material forms. This material is
then cut into strips. These strips will make the sidewalls and
other portions of the tire. The main body of the tire is
manufactured using fabricated rubber. Polyester, nylon and rayon
are the fabrics used. The fabrics are changed depending on the
type of the tire. But mostly Polyester is used. Another ring
like component is used to make a tire. This is called tire bead.
Steel wires of high tensile are used to make this tire bead.

Radial tires are made in a cylindrical tire-building machine.
The machine almost gives the final shape of the tire. After the
making of the tire, it passes through an assembling process.
Tires are assembled from the inside out. The inner line of the
tire is made of two layers of synthetic rubber. Then another
double layer of poly fabric is pasted. Then follows two trips of
apexes to harden the area. Then 2 chafer strips are then pasted.
Then automatic rollers press all parts. It helps all parts to
bind. After an inspection the tire goes for curing process. In
the curing process the tire is heated to the temperature of
300F for 12-25 minutes. It gives the tire a proper shape. Then
it passes through another inspection, which includes an X-ray
session. If there is any fault, the X-ray session reveals it.
After the inspection the tire is ready to roll.

Affiliate Marketing: Time Management Is Essential To Your Success

Filed under: Universe Of Marketing — admin @ 4:15 pm

You may not realize it, but you have more in common with the Super Affiliates than you might think!

1,560 minutes a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!

Yep, that’s right. I’m talking about time. As affiliate marketers we all have the same amount of time to use. It’s what you do with your time that will help set you apart from the average affiliate marketer.

By nature, affiliate marketers are kind of a jack of all trades. You have to do a little bit of everything on a daily basis. Update your website, write reviews and tutorials, send out your newsletter, manage link exchanges, research new products and niches. Whew! I’m tired just thinking about all you have to do.

In affiliate marketing, good time management is crucial. Here are 5 tips to help you squeeze more production out of the time you have to run your affiliate marketing business. Remember guys and gals, Time is Money!

1. Get Organized - The longer you are involved in affiliate marketing the more activities you will have to manage on a daily basis. As an affiliate you will more than likely be involved with several different merchants and affiliate programs. You are going to need to have access to lots of information, such as, email addresses, partner information, ad campaign information, website information, and link exchange programs. It is easy to see how you can get quickly overwhelmed if you don’t have some sort of system to organize your information. You will want to set up a system that will you to store your information in notebooks, folders, spreadsheets, or anything that will allow you to quickly and easily access and retrieve information that is vital to your affiliate affiliate marketing business.

2. Set Realistic Goals and Deadlines - If you only have an hour or two a day to work on your affiliate marketing business, it is important for you attack your affiliate marketing tasks with a sense of urgency. Do you have trouble creating a sense of urgency when you sit down to work? The answer is simple, set some short term goals and establish deadlines to achieve those goals. Focus your energies on one task at a time. Make your goals realistic and achievable. You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish in a couple of hours of day with the right mind set and creating a sense of urgency.

3. Don’t spread yourself to thin, You Can’t Do it All - Try as you might, you cannot be everything to everyone. There is a huge temptation to sign-up and try to promote too many affiliate programs at once. Concentrate your efforts on one or two quality affiliate programs and products. Learn how to duplicate success. Take your successes from your first program and apply it to the next one. Do it right the first time, then do it over and over again with each new program. I guarantee you that the affiliate that tries to promote twenty or thirty programs in a casual manner is wasting many more hours of his time than the affiliate who is focusing his energies on promoting one program to the best of his or her ability.

4. Never Stop Learning - Make it a point to learn something new everyday. Affiliate Marketing is a constantly changing landscape. You have to be able to adjust and adapt to change very quickly. Do everything you can to stay on the cutting edge. Stay up to date on the latest affiliate marketing news, tips, and strategies. Visit some affiliate forums and read the posts and the comments. Don’t be afraid to ask questions and when you feel comfortable in that environment post your opinion. Find some high quality informational products and buy them, print them out, make yourself a cup of coffee and set aside some quiet time to read and further your affiliate marketing education.

5. Outsource Your Work - This one is simple, get other people to do the work for you! Outsourcing is an excellent way to save yourself a ton of time. Sounds good huh? The drawback is you are going to have to dig into your wallet or purse to pay someone to do the work for you. Remember though, time is money. You can find someone to do just about anything for you on the internet. Whether you need a website designed, an ebook cover created, copywriting help, or keyword rich content written. There are several good freelance services online that are always willing to do the job for you … at a price.

Always remember as you go through the tasks and goals you set for yourself for that particular day, that there will always be instances where you cannot totally achieve everything. Stay focused and complete bite size chunks. Every minute you can apply to your affiliate marketing efforts is precious. Learning to become more efficient with your use of time will be a great asset to you now and in the future. It won’t happen overnight, but eventually, you will become a much better manager of your time and with that the additional caveat of being a much more successful affiliate marketer.
